Anatomy of an ICF

Ever wonder what the ICF looks like with concrete on the inside? Check out the next slide...

Inside the ICF

The brown dot towards the top of the picture is re-bar. Notice how tight the concrete is with no voids. This is are glimpse into an ICF wall brought to you by Hybrid Homes.

Siding and back hoes

Seems like we always have a back hoe parked at our projects. This house looks really nice with the siding on it.

Temporary Deck

This is a temporary deck that will be moved to another location on their property later this year. We have been told that it is pretty nice for a temporary deck, and we would agree.

Trimming

The home owner chose to trim the windows our before the drywall is primed to kill two birds with one stone. The house has been taken over by the trimmers.

The fireplace

This unit wil be trimmed out, stay tuned for the after photos.

John's signature

John built this landing into the garage. It has stairs in both directions to make more room for parking in the garage. Both the temporary deck and this landing were built of reclaimed wood from the home we tour down on this site.

A look at the inside of the foam forms

We love to see the insides of these forms to see how this all works. This is a picture of a spot that we removed the foam exterior to mount a power mast.

A close up

Notice how tight this cement is! This is a random spot that we selected to mount the power mast and box to. This is great evidence of the success we have with Eco Block.

Framing is complete

This is a picture of the living room on the main floor. What you are looking at is the bathroom between the office and the living room.

Tray ceiling

The master bedroom has a tray ceiling built into the roof trusses. This tray ceiling gives the room an elegant feel which compliments the extraordinary views of Muskegon Lake.

A view of the upstairs

This is a view from the common area looking back across the stairway. As you will see in a month or so, this will be an open staircase.

A look at the outside

We had a few windows get backordered, so we have all the windows set except those. This picture offers proof that we can put "eyebrows" onto the insulated concrete forms. Soon, there will be a nice deck to grace the lake side of this home.

Another look at the lake side of the home

As you can see, we are very near being 'dried in' as we call it. The few days that it snowed on us gave us the motivation to work harder towards getting it to the point that you see.
